My blog is now not so much about life on a building site – I am almost sorry to say. There is still a long way to go, but we can no longer claim rooflessness or shed dwelling. We all sleep in beds – not on shelves, and we even have a bath tub. (O.K. – it’s a bath built for hobbits, and my ample bottom barely fits inside it, but it is sufficient to submerge oneself in, and that, my friends, is more than I have had at my disposal for more than two years, and it is therefore very welcome.)
The North Wing is a mess, the bathroom upstairs is… bare, to say the least, and as for carpet? A mere pipedream. But we have a house, and we live in it.
So my blog is going to go in a different direction. I will try to jot down anecdotes of the Four Little Seymours’ adventures, but they may not be building-site related. (In truth, this has been the case for quite some time, and I am only now really realising it.) If I’m clever, I may be able to link in a few reviews to stuff (isn’t that what people do?). But that involves buying items to review, and that small budget we had? Yep. Gone. All gone.
I think, for my first official post-building site blog entry, I shall try to come up with something interesting to write about. Something current, something valid. Someting like, oh, the merits of electric gates, perhaps.
This is bound to be fascinating.
Sorry to those of you who have held on for the construction updates – you may now be disappointed. But I will endeavour to make my day-to-day, bog standard living-in-a-house blog as scintillating as possible.
Wish me luck.
I shall need it.
