So. I did the Readathon. I made a few quid, and I had a lovely email from a lady at my chosen NHS charity to thank me. I apologised that I hadn’t made several hundred thousand pounds. But she assured me that every little donation helps.

And despite only having between six and two viewers at any one time during my three and a half hour stint, I quite enjoyed myself! I re-read my story, edited it a little bit as I went, and had some lovely feedback from a few friends who stayed the distance. (Not an easy feat when there are distractions, I know! I myself couldn’t stick around for the whole of the Hobbitahon as I had a social distancing V.E. Day party to attend, and Four Little Seymours to wrangle).

Today I opened a letter from Google Adsense. It seems my fundraising is on a roll, because in five years of blogging, I have now had to verify an account for payments to be made to me through advertising. Yes, dear reader, I have made the grand total of £7.50 since 2015.

Woo.

But they won’t send me the £7.50. It seems that to actually receive any money, I have to earn £60. So then, by my calculations, in about 2030, I may receive my payment. That’s something to look forward to.

At least the Corona Virus may be in hand by then.

Or will it?

Here is the link to the Readathon if anyone wants it.
