You may wonder what has changed today at The Funny Little Bungalow. Well, wires, mainly. We have new wires.
Wires are uninspiring. They are not very pretty, and they don’t even work. Yet. But until the wires are in, and the walls have been “chased out” for said wires, then no further progress can be made. So that’s that. We must all have a little patience.
The house still resembles an Escher painting, or the final scenes of my favourite film, Labyrinth. It is constantly moving and changing and getting more and more disorientating by the day. We have had stairways to nowhere, rooms with no doors, rooms with new doors and holes in the floor – and in the ceiling. The clutter is still there – I’m rather fond if it now. Plus, we have our very own ever-increasing rubble pile.
Unfortunately, we discovered yesterday that one of the Flashy New Front Door panels is compromised and slightly warped. I mean, I know we got the door at a bargain price, but cheap, it was not! Once more, we edge forwards only to slide backwards again. But I wouldn’t expect anything else. Not in a house that resembles an Escher painting.
How marvellous would it be if Jareth and Baby Toby showed up, too! And Hoggle. I like him. But if the Goblin King could leave his codpiece at home, I’d be grateful.
I have enough to worry about right now without that distracting eyesore in my face.
There is a time and a place for men in leggings.
This ain’t it.
